minerals on my mind...
Working on my competition mineral display case. I finally settled on some hexagon shaped risers… We are leaving for Tucson on Saturday night… We will be returning on February 13th.
I will miss my dog, but he is staying with my friend Tracey, while we are gone. He will have fun hanging out with her step-son and the kitties….

Seriously swamped
Just need to finish this book project. Print deadline is the 9th… but I would like to have the majority completed by friday night. I am visiting the Ojai Valley Lodge on saturday to see their installation ceremony, and I would like to have a clear head for the event.

We decided to sell our old CDs
First we are converting everything to digital format, with back ups on a 3 external hard drives. It will be nice to actually have access to all this music, and to have all the space back that 4 boxes of CDs take up.
Justin listed 50 up on ebay the other day, to see how it goes. :)

made 250,000 on the stock market...
the NEOPETS stock market! (don’t judge me… they give away free stuff at Xmas time on Neopets…)
back from the salon…. I got a brazilian blow-out treatment done on my hair to eliminate all the frizz, and help it lay straighter without needing to use an iron…
of course now I am not supposed to put my hair behind my ear or get it wet for 2 days.
I love how it looks now, after just leaving the salon. the real test will be once I wash it for the first time.

Got a new computer yesterday
I loved it for about 12 hours… then it installed 93 updates while I was sleeping… now I want to throw it at the wall. You pay $1200 for a new computer and you expect it to work as least as good as the 3 year old one you are replacing. Nope.. browsing the internet, on any browser, is slower than computers I had 6+ years ago. Fuck windows 7.

Rode our bikes around the LAPD OccupyLA perimiter right before shit went down. Now safely watching it from my house. Not that I really expect anything violent to happen. The cops are being very patient and the protesters are co-operating.
and now I broke my diamond ring...
while helping Justin carry and load heavy pieces of petrified wood, I bent the band. However I didn’t even notice until my finger started to hurt and feel weird. I had to bend the band back to get it off, and in the process it split, right where it had been sized down to fit me.
lame… I feel naked without my wedding ring on..
preparing to let go of a long time employee… it is sad, but she is just not living up standards and has not been consistent in her work for at least the past 18 months. After being told, corrected and reprimanded multiple times; with much consideration, we have decided to replace her. I need someone that I can rely on, and she just isn’t that anymore.

Today I am visiting on of our sister lodge about 2 hours away from LA in Ojai Valley. It is a big day because we are going to the 3rd Degree to hear the MM proficiency paper of Sis. Gail. She has been to every one of the my degree ceremonies, so I wanted to make sure I attended today. :)
